Proper roof flashing is something I definitely didn't consider yet, so I can see how this might need some attention soon. Ignoring this could lead to a lot of problems during the winter like ice and moisture forming around our roof, and I don't want that happening at all. As soon as I find a roofer in the area, I'll ask them to assist us with checking out that part of our home.

I want to make sure that my roof lasts a long time. It's good to know that not keeping it clean can cause roof leaks in the long run. I'll make sure that I work with a professional to ensure that my roof is properly maintained.

Thanks so much for talking about how ice can ruin your roof in the winter. My parents have been talking about noticing some bald spots in their roofing and they want to get it all fixed before it starts to snow. We'll have to look into finding a company to help them get the roof redone soon.

Thank you for mentioning that melting ice and water can freely flow off the roof when the gutters are clean and ice jams are cleared. My father claims that our gutters have a lot of snow and ice. I'll give the gutter cleaner a call to clean the gutters and get rid of the ice blockages.

I like what you said about using a contractor to inspect the vents. My roof has some holes and the gutter system is broken. I'll have to hire a contractor for some inspections and repairs.

Thanks for pointing out that water and melting ice can travel off the roof freely if the gutters are cleaned as much as possible. I will keep that in mind to protect my future home, since it will be the biggest investment that I will have. Also, I wonder if box gutters are the best option for the design of the house that I wanted, so I should ask about that as well before making a decision.
